Trauma Therapy

Don’t let trauma continue to take your life from you…

Trauma is defined as a “deeply distressing or disturbing experience.” Therefore most people have experienced trauma to some extent; though severity, duration and impact will vary person to person. Nonetheless regardless of the trauma, if it is not processed adequately or properly at the time, it leaves a lasting impact on the person. The impact can be so significant that the person has flashbacks, avoids anything that reminds them of the trauma, has nightmares, feels emotionally numb and feels frightened much of the time, and is diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. But the trauma can also cause fewer symptoms, though still distressing, including a level of depression and/or anxiety and can’t seem to identify the cause, relationship issues, addictions, feeling disconnected and more. The good news is that there are “tools” that can be used to effectively resolve the feelings that were not previously resolved and help reduce the trauma symptoms. There are also “tools” that can be taught to help oneself to feel safe, present, calm and able to function effectively without being side railed by triggers related to the trauma or without needing to try to escape reality.
